From out of a basement in Indiana – where they recorded their self-titled debut in 2016 as students – Durand Jones & The Indications climbed into the spotlight and onto the international stage. Their clever songwriting and fresh take on soul was immediately appreciated by Colemine Records. Their debut was soon followed by international success.

The combination of Durand Jones’ warm voice and drummer Aaron Frazer’s dreamy head voice, borne by a band that sounds like tight soul-machine, resulted in music that feels nostalgic. The new album Flowers shows the true colours of The Indications: they embrace their musical roots and influences, demonstrate their self-assurance & maturity, and share this candidly with the world.

"We spent the last ten years building this house and now we’re living in it”, says guitarist Blake Rhein. The album is mature, moody and embraces the mellow side of soul and disco. Think: the golden years of Curtis Mayfield, Marvin Gaye and The Impressions, but then with a contemporary message and a fresh sound.
