Family Art Workshop for the Exhibition Jiří Petrbok: Patient’s Diary
Jiří Petrbok’s exhibition focuses on the theme of the self-portrait. However, this does not mean that you will find only images of faces or portraits in the exhibition. As the title (Patient’s Diary) suggests, you will encounter the records of a person coming to terms with the world around him, but also with himself. Images of pain and the grotesque, anxiety and humor, the fragile and the vulgar. A visual diary of a patient who keeps his own record so as not to become merely a case.
It is no coincidence that various masks and costumes are a frequent motif in Jiří Petrbok’s paintings. At first glance, a hiding place for our “self” can also reveal a great deal. It is precisely within the context of the entire exhibition that the artist’s transformations are beautifully showcased. And of course, we too are changing. And we also often hide; sometimes from others, other times from ourselves. The family (self)portrait created in this workshop will respect your willingness to reveal yourself. Or to hide appropriately.
